Certified Organic
Organic Farmers are required to be certified organic for their goods to legally bear the USDA seal. Handlers and importers of organic goods that bear the USDA or EU seals are required to be certified organic, even when goods are sealed prior to handling and import.
In order to improve traceability and better maintain the integrity of organic goods, on March 19, 2024 the National Organic Program (NOP) Strengthening Organic Enforcement (SOE) rule went into effect. The rule includes new requirements for organic imports, certification and other aspects of the organic supply chain.
Although our sealed organic extra virgin olive oil comes directly from the source (organic certified Greek Farms).
We are USDA certified organic handlers of Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil. We guarantee organic integrity and traceability of each bottle to its source.
USDA does not conduct organic certification audits. Rather, the USDA relies on an approved group of auditors and certifiers to conduct these checks and balances. In our case our certifier goes by Primus Auditing Operations.
